William Lee (Pops) Powell, 84, of Providence, NC, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 29, 2023.
William Lee was born January 19, 1939, to the late Wilbert Lee and Minnie Carroll Powell. He lived all his life in Caswell County and was a graduate of Cobb Memorial High School. He served a brief period in the Virginia National Guard. He worked at Dan River Mills, Hanover Mills and retired from Goodyear
William Lee is predeceased by his parents, wife Wendy A. Powell, one granddaughter, Brooke (Alex) Powell and one great granddaughter, Kaylee Strader.
He is survived by one son, Bruce Powell; daughter Lou Ann Reaves and husband, Mike; grandchildren Elizabeth Strader and husband, Bobby; Bruce (B.J.) Powell, Jr. and wife, Ashley; Jason Reaves and wife, Ashley, great grandchildren, Garrett Neighbors, Kinsley Strader, Jase Neighbors, Ryli Reaves, and Maddox Powell, one brother Joyce (J.C.) Powell, numerous other friends, family, and especially his horse-riding buddies.
There will be a graveside service at First Baptist Church, 378 West Church Street, Yanceyville NC on Tuesday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m. by Reverend William Easter and Reverend Mitch Cifers with a visitation following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either the First Baptist Church, Yanceyville, NC; Providence Baptist Church, Providence, NC or Central Caswell Ruritan Club, Yanceyville, NC
