- Billy Joe Wallace (1962-2018)
Pelham -- Billy Joe Wallace, 56, of Pelham, NC passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 surrounded by his family at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC. He was born on April 8,1962 to the late Burris Duncan Wallace and Lelia Mae Donehue Wallace. In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by one brother, Duncan Wallace. Mr. Wallace retired as a Lieutenant with the NC Department of Corrections Dan River Work Farm and was a former member of Pelham VFD. He attended Pelham UMC, was an avid hunter and fisherman and a devoted family man that loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Mr. Wallace is survived by the love of his life, his wife of over 35 years, Cathy Stroud Wallace of the home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Melissa Hazelwood (Kenny) of Pelham, Jennifer Lynn Wallace (James Grove) of Pelham; two sisters; Glenda Cardwell (Brandon) of Reidsville, Ruth Rivers of Albemarle; eight grandchildren; Miranda Wallace, Addison Grove, Kendra Grove, Bridget Crump, Arron Crump, Jacob Hazelwood, Justin Hazelwood, Jenna Hazelwood; one great grandchild, Karson Crump.
Memorial services will be held 1 PM Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Harrelson Funeral Home Chapel, 143 Third Ave, Yanceyville, NC by Rev. Larry Durham. The family will receive friends at the Chapel prior to the service, 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM and other times at the home. Condolences may be sent to harrelsonfs.com.
