John P. Ware was born May 8, 1844, In Todd Co., KY, where he grew to manhood, and in 1870 came to Ballard Co., where he still resides. His father Robert P. Ware, a native of Virginia, was born January 1, 1801, and died in 1868. Robert P. Ware's mother was Susann Payne, whose sister Nannie married Lord Fox of England. Robert P. married Martha, daughter of James Sanders of Christian Co., KY (died in 1870 aged sixty-four), and from this union sprang Mary A. (Lane), William N., Thomas E., Susan H. (Burrus), Virginia E. (Hilton), and subject and Martha E. (Ingraham). On Sept. 30, 1869, subject was married to Miss Deborah M., daughter of Henry F. and Naomi (Davis) Townely, of Todd Co., born May 10, 1846 and to them have been born Henry, Mary A., Mattie and Johnnie. Subject was for several years a carpenter and builder but is now a farmer and tobacco factor, having 250 acres of fine land in good condition. He is a member of the Knights of Honor and a Democrat.
