- Edward Martin [Marvin] Gunn (1908- 1980)
Edward Martin Gunn of Providence Route 1 was dead on arrival at a Reidsville hospital Monday night 1-7-1980, after being stricken while at work at the Yanceyville post office. A mail carrier and retired farmer, he was born in Caswell County Sept. 14, 1908, a son of the late Ernest L. and Mary Hicks Gunn. He was of the Methodist faith. He married the former Mary Hicks [Allen], who survives.
Other survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Betty Davis of Fayetteville and Mrs. Shirley Peaden of Anchorage, Alaska; a son, George E. Gunn of Burlington; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Anderson of California; and five grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the cemetery of Prospect United Methodist Church. The family is at the residence. The body is at Townes Funeral Home in Danville, Va.
