_______________
This is my great great grandmother Irene Bradsher Barnett born May 28 1896 in Leasburg NC, daughter of James Thomas (Brud) Bradsher, and Eugenia Archer Thompson. Irene was educated to be a teacher at a college in Angier NC. I believe she was a teacher in Durham for a short period until she married Bryant Kitchen [Kitchin] Barnett in Roxboro. They lived across the street from Earl Bradsher School and rarely left the house. Her husband started B. K. Barnett Wholesale Co. They had one child, my grandfather Frank Paige Barnett and he ran B. K. Barnett Wholesale and lived around the corner from his parents beside Turtle Pond. They would often come over and would spend hours watching Frank's TV but never wanted one in their house. Irene was a catbird but loved her grandchildren dearly. Sadly I never met her but feel as if I knew her through the stories I’ve heard.
