      _______________

The first initial "H" is what apparently is on her grave marker at the Blanch Baptist Church. However, her death certificate shows: Fannie Myrtle Lea. And, the informant on the certificate is her sister Ruby Lea, who should have known the name of her sister. Is the "H" actually an "F" standing for Frances. Fanny/Fannie is a nickname for Frances.

      _______________

Myrtle Lea taught at the Elementary School in Yanceyville, North Carolina. She is not to be confused with Myrtle A. Lea, born February 1892, the daughter of John T. and Callis Lea (lived in Milton), or with Myrtle Lea, born c. 1896, shown living in Semora at the time of the 1920 US Census (mother, Cornelia was head of the household). Myrtle Lea was teaching in Yanceyville in 1955. If that was the same person as this entry she would have been around 64 years old.

Ruby K. Lea, the younger sister of the Myrtle Lea of this entry, may also have been a school teacher. They are shown together in the 1930 US Census as single and living with their mother Molly K. Lea on the Blanche Road.
