- June Marie Laws Fuqua
June Marie Laws Fuqua, 79, of 350 Wildwood Rd., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 15, 2018 at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital, where she was surrounded by her loving family. Born in Caswell County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Thomas Laws and the late Pearl Barker Laws.
Mrs. Fuqua retired as a Nutrition worker with the Caswell County School System, and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mrs. Fuqua was passionate about her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to tend to her grandchildren, so that her children could work. She also loved to attend ball games, cheering for her grandchildren. She was fondly known as Grandma June by her grandchildren's friends. Mrs. Fuqua was a true animal lover, and she was especially fond of her dogs and cat.
Mrs. Fuqua is survived by the love of her life and husband of over 58 years Kenneth (Kenny) Fuqua, of the home; two daughters, Donna Surface and husband Jeff of Milton, and Amy Blackstock and husband Rickey of Providence; one son Keith Fuqua and wife Cheryl of Pelham; seven grandchildren, Nathan Surface and wife Beth, Hannah Lambert and husband Zach, Brittany Vernon and husband Taylor, Brandon Fuqua and wife Cheyanne, Ken Fuqua and wife Rachel, Tyler Blackstock, and Dylan Blackstock, and ten great grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at Harrelson Funeral Services Chapel and other times at the home. Graveside Rites will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday October 17, 2018 at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 6258 Park Springs Rd, Pelham, NC 27311 by the Rev. Jason Gaskin and Rev. Rusty Oliver. Harrelson Funeral Services of Yanceyville, NC is privileged to be serving the Fuqua Family.
