The 1910 US Census shows Archie C. Lindsey. Was he actually named Archibald Clark Lindsey for his patenal grandfather? His gravestone above shows Archer.

The News of Caswell: Our Yanceyville Scribe Has Store of New Items
"Mr. A. C. Lindsay [Lindsey], the accommodating postmaster at this place [Yanceyville], has recently installed a handsome cabinet in his office. The lock boxes are a great convenience and our people are commending Mr. Lindsay [Lindsey] for his public spirit."
The Reidsville Review (Reidsville, North Carolina), 7 April 1911, Friday, Page 1.
_______________
At some point Nathaniel Lea Lindsey, Jr., and his sister Mary Lindsey Cooke lived in an old house near the First Baptist Church of Yanceyville (just west of the west church driveway entrance/exit. Here is correspondence that appeared on the Caswell County Historical Association Facebook Page 25/26 November 2019:
Brenda Hooper: "Uncle" Nat Lindsey (sp?) and his sister, Mrs. Cook, lived there. They lived behind the house I grew up in. I loved going over there and feeding the chickens. On Saturdays the ice truck would come and deliver a block of ice for their ice box.
Rick Frederick: This is great! Thanks for sharing. The Uncle Nat Lindsey most likely is Nathaniel Lea Lindsey, Jr. (1888-1958) who apparently never married. Oddly, he is buried at the Yanceyville Presbyterian Church.
His sister, Mrs. Cook, probably is Mary Lindsey (1891-1974). In 1918, she married William E. Cooke (1872-1938). Thus, she outlived her husband by many years, which helps explain why she was living with her brother in the house near the First Baptist Church.
Nathaniel Lindsey, Jr., and Mary Lindsey are children of Nathaniel Lea Lindsey (1851-1898) and Mary Davidson Smith (1853-1925). This explains how my grandmother Pearl Virginia Smith (1895-1969) was familiar with the old house. Mary Davidson Smith is her aunt. And, Nathaniel Lea Lindsey is her first cousin once removed. This made the occupants of the old house her first cousins.
That my grandmother referred to the house as a "Graves house" may be explained by the fact that both Nathaniel Lea Lindsey and Mary Davidson Smith descended from the Jeremiah Graves (1786-1868) who built "Dongola" in Yanceyville. Yes, Nathaniel Lea Lindsey and wife Mary Davidson Smith are first cousins. It is possible that Jeremiah Graves or one of his children built the house back in the day.
This probably is more than you wanted to know. However, your input has helped me understand better this part of my family. Best regards, Rick

Name: Archie C Lindsey
Age in 1910: 30
Estimated birth year: abt 1880
Birthplace: North Carolina
Home in 1910: Yanceyville Twp, Caswell, North Carolina

Gender: Male
Archie C. Lindsey (head, 30) (born c. 1880)
Polly D. Lindsey (mother, 56, widow) (born c. 1854)
Nathaniel (son, 21) (born c. 1889)
Mary (daughter, 19) (born c. 1891)
Grace (daughter, 14) (born c. 1896)
However, if Archie C. Lindsey was 30 years old in 1910 it would be difficult for him to have the children listed. These additional children most likely are siblings of Archer Clark Lindsey (children of Polly D. Smith Lindsey). No marriage record has been found for Archer Clark Lindsey (1879-1945).
A 1918 World War I draft registration card shows an Archie Clark Lindsey born 6 June 1879. The stated nearest relative is Polly D. Lindsey (probably his mother Mary D. (Polly) Smith Lindsey).

James H. (Jack) Miles manufactured corn liquor in Anderson Township, Caswell County, North Carolina on his farm just west of Prospect Methodist Church. Late in life he secured the services of T. M. Angle of Milton, North Carolina, to operate or assist in operation of the distillery in Anderson Township, Caswell County. Arch Lindsey of Yanceyville, North Carolina, was the bookkeeper. The exact dates of operation are not known. It appears that the distillery closed with the coming of North Carolina's prohibition law in 1908. Source: From Rabbit Shuffle to Collins Hill: Stories of Southern Caswell County, North Carolina, Millard Quentin Plumblee (1984) at 129-130.
Note also that an A. C. Lindsey was schoolmaster of the Yanceyville Academy that was organized (and the building constructed) in 1840 to be the Yanceyville Male Academy. This is believed to be Archibald Clark Lindsey, the paternal grandfather of the Archer Clark Lindsey of this entry.
See the entry in this database for Grace Clark.
