    • Gloria Jean Bowe (1947-2014)

      Gloria Jean Bushnell, 67, of 240 Dillard School Road, Yanceyville, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at Kindred Hospital of Greensboro.

      Born 1947 in Rockingham County, North Carolina, Gloria Jean Bushnell is the daugther of the late Herman Bowe and the Late Edna Hill Bowe. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Dillard Berlin Bushnell.

      She loved playing with her dog Felix, watching T.V., needle pointing, and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

      Survivors are: one son - Phillip Bushnell (Darla) of Blanch; one daughter - Stacey Bushnell Choate (John Alexander “Alex”) of Kernersville; one sister - Gwendolyn Hill Bowe of Yanceyville; a special aunt - Lucille Richmond; 2 grandchildren - Trenton and Lexus and a host of other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services were held Friday, September 19, 2014 at Pearson Chapel AME; 222 Hwy 62 S Yanceyville, NC 27379 at 12:00 p.m. The Rev. Barrington Ross delivered the eulogy. The body was available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The family arrived at 11:30 a.m. There was a public veiwing on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Blackwell Funeral Home (RBC Chapel, 292 Rauhut St. Burlington, NC 27217). Burial was at Blackwell Missionary Baptist Church. The family received friends at the home of her son; Phillip Bushnell 5503 Hwy. 62 N Blanch, NC.
