Mr. M. A. Turner of Locust Hill, Caswell County, N.C., died Tuesday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. R. Blackwell, at Quick, N.C. Mr. Turner was in the 81st year of his age and had been in declining health for the past several years. He was born in Caswell County, where he made his home during his entire life. He was a Confederate Veteran and a farmer. He was one of the Founders of the Methodist Church at Locust Hill. He is survived by the following children: Messrs. W. C. and J. S. Turner and Mrs. C. A. Howard, of this city; H. S., C. L. and Julius B. Turner of Caswell County, N.C., J. H. Turner of Fairbluff, S. C.; A. M. Turner of Reidsville, N.C.; Thomas D. Turner of Durham, N.C. and Mrs. A. R. Blackwell of Quick, N. C. The funeral services will be conducted from the Locust Hill Methodist Church this afternoon. Source: Danville Register (Danville, Virginia), Thursday 30 January 1908.
