- Mrs. Robette Jeanette Robertson Evans, age 77, of Providence, N.C., passed away Tuesday morning, August 15, 2017, at her residence after a decline in health. Mrs. Evans was born on January 28, 1940, in Caswell County, N.C., a daughter of the late Harry Thomas Robertson, Sr. and the late Lillie Mae Mabe Robertson. She had lived her entire life in Caswell County where she was the co-owner of Evans Well Drilling Company and had previously retired from Health-Tex. She was of the Baptist faith. She was married to Sam Lloyd "Mike" Evans, who predeceased her on June 16, 2012. Mrs. Evans is survived by four children, Michael K. Evans and wife, Cheryl of Pelham, N.C., Pamela E. Cook and husband, Larry of Blanch, N.C., Karen E. Moorefield and husband, Jesse of Pelham, N.C., and Lisa A. Evans of Danville, Va.; two sisters, Myrtle R. Saunders of Danville, Va. and Betty Lou R. Toler of Gastonia, N.C.; one brother, Donald G. "Don" Robertson of Collinsville, Va., eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Frances Robertson; and brothers, Harry T. Robertson, Jr., Jesse W. Robertson, Franklin D. Robertson, and Billy H. Robertson. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017, from the Happy Home Congregational Christian Church, 6941 NC 700, Ruffin, NC 27326 with Pastor Adam Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church and at other times at the residence. The family would like to thank her special friends and caregivers, Barbara Wray, Sherrie Jernigan and Betty Bullard, as well as the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Memory of Robette Evans, be made to Meals on Wheels of Caswell County, P.O. Box 1405, Yanceyville, NC 27379.
