Yanceyville: Carolyn Harriet English Brandon 89, formerly of 2256 U.S. Highway 158 West went to be with the Lord Thursday April 20, 2017, at Peak Resources Center in Graham following a period of declining health. She was born in Caswell County January 10, 1928, to the late Nathaniel Willis and Bertha Josie Lunsford Willis. She grew up in the Leasburg area and graduated from Yanceyville High School. She worked in textiles for some time and was a rural mail carrier for several years. She was also a Member of First Baptist Church, Yanceyville, and sang in the choir. Funeral services will be Sunday 3 p.m. at the church with Pastor Britt Groom officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service (3 p.m.).
Survivors are daughter Cynthia English Tharrington of Louisburg, a son Robert L. English Jr. and wife Linda of Lake Norman, one sister Virginia Dare Burge of Kernesville, grandchildren Daniel Tharrington Matthew Tharrington, Jack English, Hannah English, great grandchildren Vada Tharrington, Leslie English Tharrington, Brantley Tharrington, Colt Tharrington, Connor Tharrington, Caroline English and Charlotte English along with multitudes of nieces and nephews. Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, first husband Robert L. English Sr. and second husband Lawrence (Buster) Brandon, brothers James Willis, Norman Willis, Nathaniel Willis Jr., Berkley Willis, sisters Alice Hamlet, Bea Briggs, Ruth Willis and son-in-law Earl Tharington. Carolyn always demonstrated her Christian Faith by the way she lived her life, she loved her family and everyone she came in contact with, never failing to say "I Love You."
