May 05, 2009 - 06:56:51 pm CDT (The Caswell Messenger) - Mrs. Brenda Richmond Sims of Milton, NC died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Danville Regional Medical Center at the age of 56. Mrs. Sims was born in Caswell County, NC on September 23, 1952 to Mrs. Katey Hughes Richmond and the late Mr. Sidney I. Richmond. She was married to Mr. George S. Sims, Jr. and was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Burlington, NC. Mrs. Sims was a retired school teacher with Caswell County Public Schools.
Mrs. Sims is survived by her husband: Mr. George S. Sims, Jr. of the home; (1) step-daughter: Dr. Angela Denise Stephens of Baltimore, MD; her mother: Mrs. Katey H. Richmond of Milton, NC; (1) brother: Mr. Ray Godfrey Richmond of Milton, NC; (1) grandson: Master Kevin Stephens; (1) sister-in-law: Mrs. Shelia Richmond; (2) nieces: Mrs. Nikita Adams and Ms. Natia Richmond; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brenda Richmond Sims were held Sunday, May 3, 2009 at 1:00 PM with services at the Caswell County Civic Center in Yanceyville, NC with Rev. Dr. Larry Covington officiating. The family received friends on Saturday evening from 7:30 until 8:30 PM at Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Burlington, NC and will at all other times at the residence, 10388 HWY 62, Milton, NC. Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home, North Main Street, South Boston.
