World War I veteran whose biographical sketch was published in Caswell County in the World War, 1917-1918: Service Records of Caswell County Men, George A. Anderson, Compiler (1921) at 52-54. Note the following from page 171 of this book:
". . . After preliminary training he [Henry Franklin Turner] was sent to Camp Merritt, N.J. There he was placed for service in Company I, first Air Service Mechanical Regiment. Just in this connection it will be interesting to note that three other Caswell boys were with young Turner through the entire period of the war; namely, Berkley R. Daniels [Daniel], Louis Glenn Carter, and Walters James Allen. The author of this sketch [George A. Anderson] has in his private files the photograph of these four boys, taken in Paris while they were in that City on a leave of absence. . . ."
