Obituary of Nathaniel George Fuquay
Dec 16, 2008 - 07:09:39 pm CST Mebane, NC (The Caswell Messenger) - Mr. (Gee) Nathaniel George Fuquay of 1545 Sykes Road, Mebane, NC died on December 13, 2008 Mr. Fuquay was born in Caswell County, NC on April 7, 1931. He was the son of the late Robert Parrot Fuquay and Winnie Murmur Barts Fuquay. Mr. Fuquay was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Marine Corps and was the recipient of two Purple Hearts while he was serving his country. He was a retired tobacconist with Dibrell Brothers Tobacco Company. Mr. Fuquay was a member of the American Legion and the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots. He was first married to Barbara Gibson Fuquay who died February 18, 1999. He later married in 2004 Hildred Oakes Fuquay who survives of the home.
Besides his wife Mr. Fuquay is survived by one son: Steven Fuquay, two daughters, Sheree Fuquay and Lori Fuquay Snyder all of Ringgold, one brother, Carlton Fuquay of Rock Hill, SC, one sister, Dora Ward of Yanceyville, NC, four step-children, Kathy Conrad and her husband E.R of Pinnacle, NC, Roger Fuquay, Mebane, NC, Wilma Price and her husband Lynn of Taylorsville, NC and Deborah Capps and her husband Curtis of Advance, NC. He was "Gee Daddy" to his five grandchildren, Meaghan, Steven, Todd, Jordan and Kaitlan and two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Logan. He was also survived by five step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at 11:00AM from the graveside at Floral Hills Memory Gardens with the Reverend Lamarr Mooneyham, Pastor at The Tabernacle officiating. Military honors will be presented by the American Legion Dan River Post # 1097. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home, 215 West Main Street on Friday, December 19, 2008 from 7 to 8:30 P.M. and at other times will be at the residence, 1545 Sykes Road, Mebane, NC. Townes Funeral Home, 215 West Main Street is in charge of arrangements for the Fuquay family.

Born April 7, 1931 in Caswell County, NC. Passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008 in Mebane, NC. He served with the Marines in the Korean War and was awarded two purple hearts. He was a member of the Marine Corp League and the American Legion. He was married to Barbara Gibson Fuquay and had three children, Steven, Sheree and Lori. He will be buried Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Danville Memorial Gardens Incorporated, Highway 58 near the Danville Airport, 510 Church Ave, Danville, VA 24541. "Gee Daddy" as he was referred to by close friends and relatives was loved and will be missed by all of us.
