The Yanceyville Rosenwald School (1925) was built by William Eugene Reagan (1873-1946). A Yanceyville contractor/builder, Reagan won the contract in July 1924 and erected the school on a ravine beside the John W. Stephens house. Reagan was awarded a $4,465 construction contract, plus an additional allowance for composition roof shingles.

Local builder and contractor William Eugene (Willie) Reagan (1873-1946) almost was killed when a scaffolding collapsed at the Yanceyville Methodist Church building upon which Reagan was working as a construction supervisor.
His sons learned carpentry from him.
