Abner Wharden Clayton, 82 of Roxboro died Monday, October 14, 2013 at Person Memorial hospital. Born in Person county son of the late John William Clayton & Mona Frederick Clayton in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Bradley Wharden Clayton. Mr. Clayton was a retired Sheriff's Deputy for Durham County & of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his son Thomas Brandon Clayton of Logan, Ut.; one brother William Gail Clayton & wife Phyllis of Roxboro; two sisters Mona Pass of Winston Salem, Barbara Smith of Washington; one half sister Bernice Ashby of Timberlake; four grandchildren Kenneth B. Clayton of SC., Amy, Abigail & Audrey Clayton of Logan, Ut.
Graveside Rites will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Burchwood Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Gerald Hodges. The family will receive friends following the service.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
