Joanne B. Reichert, 80: Bradenton, Florida - Joanne Barbara (Bonsecours) Reichert of Indian River and Ellenton, Fla., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Bradenton Health Care in Bradenton, Fla. She had just been transferred there that evening from Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton. Joanne was born October 27, 1927 in Indian River. She was the daughter of Samuel J. and Josephine E. (Payer) Bonsecours. She grew up in Indian River and graduated from Petoskey High School in 1945. She married Jack F. Reichert of Detroit at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Detroit on Dec. 11, 1953. They moved to Livonia, Mich., to raise a family, where they bought a Mobil service station at Plymouth and Farmington and later moved to a Mobil service station at Six Mile and Farmington. In 1972, they purchased the Standard Station at Spring and Min in Harbor Springs, and named it Reichert's Standard. The family moved to Indian River in 1972. Joanne helped with the administrative duties of the station. They retired in 1993 after selling the station and began spending winters in Ellenton, Florida.
Joanne enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting, playing shuffleboard, reading and her laptop computer, where she stayed in touch with friends and family. Joanne was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Indian River. Joanne is survived by daughters Debra (Richard) Beebe of Indian River and Nancy (Frank) Chambers of Indian River; granddaughters Jonelle (James) Drake of Wolverine and Heather and Chelsea Chambers of Indian River; greatgrandsons Andrew and Aldan Drake of Wolverine; a brother, Richard (Virginia) Bonsecours of Columbus, Ohio; a sister, Mary (James) Dagwell of Ellenton; and several nieces and nephews.
