Mrs. Pat Powell Funeral Tomorrow
Funeral services for Mrs. Pat Powell, well known Blanch, N.C. resident, will be conducted tomorrow morning at 11 o'clock from Blanch Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Powell died yesterday in Memorial Hospital following a serious illness since February. She was born in Caswell County, May 13, 1905, a daughter of the late Charlie Henry Butts and Laura Ware Butts. She spent all her life in her native county, including the last 40 years in the Blanch community. For many years, Mrs. Powell taught in the various departments of the Blanch Baptist Church Sunday school, where her membership dates back to childhood. She was married on Jan. 13, 1923, to Pat Powell, who survives along with two children, Miss Virginia Powell of the home and James H. Powell of Blanch; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Holt of Yanceyville; two brothers, Early Butts of Providence and Henry Butts of Yanceyville Rt. 1; and two grandchildren. The body is at the local Swicegood Funeral Home and the burial will be in the church cemetery. At other times the family will be at the residence at Blanch.
